Thymalin
Thymogen Β· Thymic Extract Peptide Β· Epithalamin-Thymalin
Polypeptide extract from bovine thymus gland, distinct from synthetic Thymosin Alpha-1 and Thymulin. Contains a mixture of short thymic peptides that collectively restore T-cell immune competence. Extensively studied in Russian gerontology research for immunosenescence reversal.

Mechanism of Action
The active fraction of thymalin contains peptides that bind thymocyte surface receptors and restore IL-2 production and T-cell receptor (TCR) repertoire diversity. Unlike single-peptide thymic agents, thymalin's multi-peptide composition may restore immune function across a broader range of age-related deficits.
Clinical Applications
- βAge-related immunosenescence reversal
- βPost-viral immune reconstitution
- βChronic recurrent infections in immunocompromised adults
- βCombined with Epithalon for comprehensive anti-aging protocols (Russian longevity research)
- βSecondary immunodeficiency support
Dosing Protocol
Recommended Dosing
IM injection. 10 mg/day for 5β10 consecutive days (standard induction course). Repeat 1β2x per year. Some protocols use 10 mg 3x/week for 4 weeks. Often cycled alongside Epithalon (spring and autumn courses in Russian protocols).Safety & Contraindications
Possible Side Effects
- β Mild injection-site reactions (IM β expected)
- β Transient flu-like symptoms on first 1β2 days (immune activation)
- β Very low allergenic potential β bovine thymus origin; check for beef allergy
Contraindications
- βActive autoimmune disease β broad T-cell activation may flare autoimmune conditions
- βOrgan transplant recipients on immunosuppression
- βBeef/bovine protein allergy
