Mechanism of Action
Selectively concentrates on the inner mitochondrial membrane, stabilises cardiolipin, prevents cytochrome c release, restores electron transport chain efficiency, and reduces mitochondrial ROS.
Clinical Applications
- βHeart failure and cardiac mitochondrial dysfunction
- βBarth syndrome (clinical trials)
- βAge-related mitochondrial decline
- βRenal ischemia-reperfusion injury
- βSkeletal muscle dysfunction and exercise intolerance
Dosing Protocol
Recommended Dosing
SC injection. 0.25β1 mg/kg/day in clinical trials. Off-label: 0.5β4 mg/day for anti-aging protocols. Very limited human data outside trials.Safety & Contraindications
